Dear Charles,
On behalf of the pastors in the Region, my staff and myself, I want to thank you for the excellence of the annual Pastor's Retreat that you have brought to our lives. As I was watching the interaction and listening to the conversations around the tables this week, I was caught by the level of sharing, the depth of relationship, and the overall positive direction of our time together at the retreat. I believe this to be the clearest evidence of God's work in our midst, that we have a level of unity that has not been seen in any region I have ever been a part of in my ministry.
The speakers you have been able to bring to us are some of the best and most helpful thinkers and practitioners in the church in America, and have all been right in the proverbial strike zone of our churches. The have all been people we needed to hear from who came and spoke the truth in love to our churches and leaders. I applaud your courage in bringing them in and letting them have room to share what God has put on their hearts. Clay Ford was an especially inspired choice, with his encouragement toward ministry with the Holy Spirit and the freedom to have prayer ministry for us. My pentecostal friends are going to be jealous when I tell them. :)
I know that people tell you that they appreciate your leadership and vision for the region, but I wanted to post this to make it clear: I appreciate your courage, determination and perseverance in moving the agenda of the region to be in line with the agenda of Heaven. You are both a great help and an inspiration to me in the effort to do the same in my community.
Thank You, and I thank God for you.
Bill
P.S.
If anyone else out there agrees with me (or not, free country...), post it.
